During the two weeks before the start of term, they worked to contact the Student Union for office recognition as a society, book a stall for the annual ‘Fresher’s fair’, contact multiple firms and organise the first society event.
With only the addition of Yodapa Pullsri as Treasurer, the first fresher’s fair was a success with over 200 sign-ups to the society – an impressive achievement for a society which did not exist a mere two weeks beforehand!
The first society event, hosted by Nestle, brought in approximately 30 people and received strong positive feedback from the participants. The practice assessment centre exercise gave students a chance to experience both sides of the table – as a participant and an assessor. From there, Tanya and Cecilia were recruited asevent organisers, Qasim and Alexia as marketing officers and Ione as a secretary, finalising the 2010/2011 committee.
Since then the society has gone wrong strength to strength and now has a membership base of well over 1000.
